Hearing Aid Styles
Today there are many different types of hearing aids available. By opting for private care, you have a far greater choice of these different styles of hearing aid.
RITE (Receiver In The Ear) Hearing Aids
This is the latest innovation in digital hearing aid technology. The design is very comfortable and discreet - almost invisible from the front or side. These models can contain all available technical features such as volume controls, multiple programmes, directional microphones and blue tooth connectivity. Ideal for mild to severe hearing losses.
Completely in the canal (CIC) Hearing Aids
CIC hearing aids fit mostly into the ear canal and are suitable for mild to moderate hearing loss. They are small which limits the range of features which can be fitted such as volume controls and programme buttons.
In The Ear (ITE) Hearing Aids
ITE hearing aids fit neatly into the ear with a slightly larger faceplate which allows more technical features such as volume controls, programme buttons, and directional microphones.
Traditional Behind-the Ear hearing aids
Behind-the-ear hearing aids are usually prescribed for severe to profound hearing loss or for ease of handling.
